My name is Olivia Suarez, and I'm a sophomore journalism major at the University of Texas at Austin. My journalism aspirations stem from watching my father work as a sports and news broadcaster in San Antonio. I remember feeling so captivated by the stories he would cover, some including the SuperBowl and the NBA Finals. As I grew older, I became fascinated with entertainment coverage, and over the years developed the dream of being a celebrity journalist in Los Angeles. My goal is to transform the way these stories are being reported: less tabloid, and more professional. I hope to work for the E! Network and become a freelance writer for various entertainment-based magazines in the near future, and I know that my experience at UT will help make my dream into a reality.
